Each part of the supply chain wants something different from the same asset
We work across the built environment, from the bodies that set policy and commission work to the firms that design, make and install it. Requirements flow down that chain, and information and lessons flow back up.
The six roles
Each role takes different decisions, on different timescales and with different information, so choose the one closest to yours.
01CommissionGovernment, local authorities and regulatorsPublic money spent well, and policy that holds up in delivery
02OwnAsset owners and operatorsAssets that perform for decades, with evidence of their condition
03PromoteDevelopers and promotersSchemes that win consent and stay viable through procurement
04DesignDesigners and consultantsDesigns that can be built, costed and changed without rework
05MakeManufacturers and suppliersSteadier demand and a smoother flow from factory to site
06InstallContractorsPackages that run to plan, with the risk understood
Where the chain meets
Several of the most useful decisions sit at the joins between roles: what a public client asks for at the end of a PFI contract, how a promoter runs early involvement with specialists and manufacturers, how a design is released to the people who will make and install it. The audience pages look at those joins from each side, including what an owner needs to run an asset well long after it is built.
